YOUR DONATION BUILDS HOPE
The Habitat for Humanity of Putnam ReStore plays a key part in how we build homes with local families. We appreciate your continued support through donations of furniture, appliances, and other household goods.
Two ways to donate!
Drop-Off:
Drop-off hours are Thursday-Saturday, 10:30 am-3:30pm. We will look over your donation to make sure it fits our donation guidelines (listed below), give you a receipt, and remind you of the impact you are making on our community. (Please do not drop off during non-business hours due to vandalism and theft.)
Pick Up:
Is your donation too large to fit into your vehicle? No problem! We send a group of volunteers out to pick up ReStore donations. Call the ReStore (706-991-1600) or submit this fill out the online request form to request a donation pickup at least a week ahead of time. Please ensure your donation fits our criteria listed below and is clean and easily accessible (located on the ground floor) when our drivers arrive.

Guidelines for Donated Items
Accepted at the Habitat for Humanity of Putnam ReStore
Items We Accept:
Please note that the list below is for donation items dropped off at the ReStore location. Items eligible for pickup may differ slightly. All dropped off donation items must be approved by the store staff. Thank you!
Appliances: Cooktops, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, dryers, microwaves, refrigerators, washers. Less than ten years old. Must be in full working order and clean.
Building Materials:
Flooring: Tile or laminate in box quantity or greater. Hardwood/parquet flooring free of rot and 200 sq. ft. minimum.
Lumber: Dimensional/Trim—4 feet or longer. Sheet Goods—half sheets or larger.
Insulation: New only (200 sq. ft. minimum).
Roofing: New only (200 sq. ft. minimum).
Cabinets: All drawers and cabinets must be included.
Countertops: Minimal damage only.
Decorative: Rugs, paintings, housewares, etc. Larger items only.
Doors: Undamaged and solid wood doors only—remove nails first. Glass doors must be insulated. No shower doors.
Electronics: Smart TV’s only, and must have a remote.
Furniture: In good, resalable condition (no rips, stains, or pet hair.) Bed frames must have headboard, footboard, side rails, and hardware. No IKEA, composite, or particle board furniture.
Hardware: Rust free.
Heating: Woodstoves, fireplaces (less than five years old), furnaces (less than ten years old, high efficiency), etc. Must be in good working order. No gas fireplaces or burners.
Lighting: Lamps only. All parts included and in good working order. No light fixtures.
Mattresses: Must be in excellent condition. (No rips, stains, wear, or pet hair.)
Mirrors: must be framed.
Rugs: In good, resalable condition (no rips, stains, or pet hair.)
Roofing Materials: New shingles (full pack minimum), rolls of roofing material (200 sq. ft. minimum). No gutters accepted.
Sinks & Plumbing: Bathtubs, sinks, faucets, toilets, bathroom accessories, shower pans. Undamaged only. No used toilets, faucets, or pipe fittings leading to faucets.
Tools: Hand tools, power tools, bench tools. Safe working condition only.
Windows: Insulated glass only. Must include all hardware. No rot or cracked, broken, or foggy glass. All nails must be removed. No single paned windows.
Items We Cannot Accept:
Unfortunately, due to legal requirements, lack of customer demand, and issues of resaleability we cannot accept items on the list below. This is not a comprehensive list and some items may be refused due to current inventory levels.

Bedding and bed pillows
Blinds
Carpeting
Ceiling Fans
Chandeliers
China and china cabinets
Clothing
Carpet pads
Children items: cribs, car seats, highchairs, etc.
Christmas trees that are damaged

Electronics other than smart TVs

Overhead Lighting and fixtures
Oil-based paint
Paints, primers, stains, chemicals, or solvents of any kind.
Particle board furniture of any kind

Pipes and pipe fittings leading to faucets and/or plumbed-in appliances

Single-paned windows

From time to time, the ReStore may be unable to accept certain donations due to space limitations.
ReStore employees and volunteers have the final right of refusal on any item.
